Kartik Kapadia filed complaint against Apple on Feb 4, 2021
It has been a really frustrating experience. Both with the trade-in and with the Apple customer service. * chat sessions, * phone calls, and ** emails without any resolution.
I have an iPhone X *** GB, serial number C**VL*UBJCL* which is in perfect condition. Front and back camera working, mobile working, wifi working, music working, not a scratch, perfect display etc. It has a battery capacity of **%, which is very reasonable for a *-year-old phone. The blue dart person checked the phone and found it to be perfect. But then he ran the diagnostic test and because Apple failed it on "Battery Condition", he rejected the trade-in.
I tried to reason with him that an **% battery capacity is absolutely fine and nowhere does Apple mention in its trade-in conditions that they will check for a particular % of battery condition. If you are expecting the battery to be ** or ***% for an iPhone X, basically you are telling the customer that buy from Apple, but don't use your phone if you want to trade-in with us! Or if Apple thinks the battery capacity should be ***% after * years of normal use, then they should make better batteries!
The worst experience was the courier told me that he will explain the battery situation to Apple and the next thing I saw was in * hour my order was cancelled with a message "customer-initiated cancellation". I made no such cancellation request.
Here are the trade-in conditions from the Apple.com/in website. My iPhone X fulfils all these conditions, so how can Apple reject my trade-in? I have gone through a lot of inconvenience and hours of time with taking backups etc. of my phone and Apple has no right to reject my trade-in and deny me a rightful order. Where do the below conditions say anything about battery capacity?
*. Physical condition of the touchscreen, enclosure or back glass, and camera lenses
*. Front and back camera functionality
*. Storage capacity
*. Performance speed
*. Wi-Fi and mobile functionality
Every Apple customer support person has agreed with my valid concerns and accepted that Apple's trade-in policy is flawed, but the only thing I have got is empty promises to fix the problem without any actual fix happening.

I got my refund. You guys have really helped me when I needed it the most! Thanks again for your help :-)
