I booked a round trip flight ticket through Makemytrip on **th May **** vide Booking ID: NN*AEPMH***********. The flight from Dubai to Mumbai was scheduled for **st Aug **** and the return flight from Mumbai to Dubai was on **st Aug ****.
On **th May, I received an email from MakeMyTrip stating that my upcoming flight from Dubai to Mumbai had been rescheduled, and I was advised to submit a refund request. Following this, I kept receiving repeated reminders that the flight schedule had changed and that I should initiate a refund request.
However, when I checked the details of the rescheduled flight, I was unable to clearly identify what changes had been made, as the same messages kept appearing repeatedly. Additionally, I found no option to cancel only the Dubai to Mumbai leg of the journey—the system prompted cancellation of both flights.
As the date of departure approached, I had no clarity on the revised schedule, so I ended up booking a fresh ticket and traveled from Dubai to Mumbai. After arriving in India, I decided to cancel the tickets and request a refund. In response, MakeMyTrip informed me that Air India holds discretion over waiving the cancellation penalty—something I find unreasonable given the confusing and unresolved situation.
I took action based on your rescheduling notifications and did not intend to cancel my return ticket from Mumbai to Dubai. However, due to system limitations, I was unable to cancel just the Dubai to Mumbai ticket and had to cancel the entire round trip.
I am requesting a ***% refund for both the flights. If a full refund is not possible, then I would like my return ticket from Mumbai to Dubai on **st August **** to be reinstated, and a refund to be initiated only for the Dubai to Mumbai segment, which was repeatedly flagged with rescheduling issues.
