I planned *N/*D trip from Pune to Goa in Oct to take a break for self and family and booked properties much in advance from Agoda mobile app to avoid any last minute trouble for me and my family.
I also made advance reservation for my journey from Pune to Goa and also booked local car for entire trip in Goa.

I made reservation for property named “ The Shore” located at Palolem Beach, Goa on **th August and payment was made as requested by Agoda. Details as Below

On **th October around * PM, when I already left Pune and was on the way to Goa, I received call from Property that there is no room for me and I must cancel and opt for full refund and find alternative hotel on my own.
I reached out to Agoda immediately but to my surprise, Agoda also insisted to cancel and opt for refund and find alternate property on my own when I am already half way to Goa.
I rejected this and asked Agoda to find alternate equivalent property at Palolem beach itself as I am traveling with another family that had booking in next hotel to “The Shore” and this was the reason I booked “The Shore” from Agoda despite its high price.
Agoda did not promise to provide any alternative accommodation and keep saying they are checking.. this is how Agoda spoiled my Goa trip even before It could start. I was under tremendous pressure to find alternative property, as relying on Agoda means I might have no place for me and my family when I reach Goa. So I managed to get alternate property on my own.. And it was a good decision as hours later Agoda came back with lower category hotel KMs away from Palolem beach where I originally booked.
Then Agoda without understanding the agony and harassment they caused, shamelessly offered me to refund ‘my own money’ with **% agoda cash as compensation.
They estimated the cost of mental harassment as **% of booking amount.. this shows how Agoda treats their customer. I rejected and almost both days Instead of enjoying beach I was just struggling with Agoda to understand the situation they caused and compensate.. but as it was spoiling my trip more and Agoda had no concern about the trip I gave up and accepted Agoda’s final compensation as ***% of booking amount.
I thought the pain is over and atleast remaining * Days shall be peaceful and we can recover from this mental harassment.
But Agoda planned another surprise for us with next booking as well.

For remaining * nights I booked property named “Candolim Sands” located at Candolim Beach, Goa from Agoda mobile app on **-August as below :

On **th oct after check out we planned to visit few places in Goa on the way from Palolem to Candolim and planned our day in way to reach the property by or after check-in time.
As we already had worse experience with Agoda, we proactively called the property that we would be arriving and to ensure the room is available.
The Hotel informed us that the voucher Agoda sent to them had check-in date mentioned as ’**-Oct’ and check out date as ’**-Oct’. While we were looking forward to come out from previous Shock from Agoda this further added to our agony and spoiled the remaining trip as well.
Whatever we planned – lunch, church, fort, fontainhas etc.. we had to drop everything and frankly we just wanted to end the trip then and there after such harassment from Agoda and return but our return ticket was for **th Oct so we couldn’t. we reached out to Agoda customer help.. that replied hours later and again insisted to cancel the hotel and insisted us to find alternate place on our own.
I informed them this is rush time and there are hardly any rooms available and Agoda should fix the mess they created but Agoda decided to leave us on our own. They even called hotel to cancel the entire booking – that would mean We wont have hotel for both days.. I lost my patience and begged Agoda not to do that and also called Hotel to hold the room atleast for **-Oct so I only have to manage alternate place for one day.
As usually, relying on Agoda would be a crime and as Agoda already killed our entire plan as well as our hopes. We had no choice but to drop everything and again rush to find a decent alternate place as we already checked out from previous property and had no place.. on the way my son got sick.. this also I informed to Agoda but only if they had cared.
I managed to find a place for one night and checked in.. After several hours, I received a communication to accept an alternative property again far from beach and of lower category, If I would have waited for Agoda, firstly I would have no place in such hot climate with son not feeling well, secondly I would still be searching alternative place on my own.
Again Agoda shamelessly offering to refund ONLY the cost of booking and asking the receipt that I shared nevertheless and overlooking the pain they caused. Agoda is not even willing to talk about how they ruined my entire trip, caused tremendous pain and mental harassment for me and my family.
The Trip that was meant for peace became a battlefield for my family.
The trip that I planned to take a break from hectic schedule became more hectic and painful to survive.
Agoda is not even acknowledging what they have done to spoiled my entire vacation.
For the first time messed up, I accepted the compensation thinking my remaining trip would be peaceful but the way Agoda Ruined my entire trip, I would want to make sure that Agoda understands the gravity of situation, feel the pain of the customer and improve handling of bookings and equip customer services in a better way to respond timely with adequate resolution to customer concerns based on situation on ground.
I, Hereby,
Demand the full refund of my entire trip including all the to and from reservations and other expenses incurred in Goa.
Demand the full refund of cost of days that I took off from Office for this trip and Agoda turned it into a painful experience.
Demand the compensation for the mental harassment that Agoda caused to my entire family during my entire trip and not let me & my family sleep peacefully for a single night.
