Vistara Airlines - Vistara Flight cancelled without intimation

My wife and *.* years child were travelling to Johannesburg from Hyderabad on June **rd ****. It was an itinerary of ethiopian airlines in partnership with Vistara. The first leg has domestic flight handled by Vistara from Hyderabad to Mumbai after which the internation leg starts (Mumbai to Addis Ababa & Addis Ababa to Johannesburg).

On the day of travel, after reaching Hyderabad airport, we got to know that Vistara flight got cancelled and there was no intimation given to us in advance. It created a huge risk of the entire trip getting cancelled if we could not reach Mumbai on time to catch international flight. We had pre-planned & confirmed reservations for hotel and domestic flights in Johannesburg as we also had a plan to go to Capetown and any change in the plan would have created a huge financial loss.

We inquired other airlines at the airport, and had to take an alternative flight of Akasa Airlines at the eleventh hour, fortunately available at the same time, for a premium cost of ***** INR approx (including priority checkin in order to meet the next flight) and my wife had to hustle through Mumbai traffic from domestic to international terminal with huge luggage, and a child of * years, all because of the callous and unprofessional attitude of vistara & ethiopian airlines towards the passengers.

My son of * years was crying all through the journey and my wife had to manage with great difficulty. Instead of it being a memorable experience, it turned out to be a nightmarish one which made me instantly regret the decision of choosing such airlines.

I urge your assistance in getting the refund of the additional money paid by me (INR ***** approx) for an alternate domestic flight, cab expenses in Mumbai along with fair compensation (INR *****) for the unprofessional practice of not intimating us about the cancellation and for the mental agony my family had to go through.
