Manyavar Mohey - Molested and verbally abused by Manyavar employees

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Sankar Biswas (Male), live in Chickrand Jalapara, Chickrand, Hooghly, West Bengal-******. I have been a victim of molesation of a Manyavar employee.

Manyavar has * stores in *** meters radius in lindsay street, Kolkata - ******.
I ordered a kurta from "Manyavar creation" store which was to be delivered on **st April, ****.
Me and my female friend Chitralekha Basu went to receive the delivery on **st April around * pm, after receiving the product a *:** pm we left the store
and after *-* minutes we realized that we didnt purhase a DOPATTA, we went back to that store and they said they are closed and suggested us to go the
other manyavar store "Utkarsh Enterprises" which was around *** meters away, but we checked up some of the Dopattas and we were fixated which DOPATTA to buy. So we went to that store with the kurta we had already purchased.

When we went inside "Utkarsh Enterprises", salesman BABUL DAS came to us and we showed him the already purchased Kurta and we told him that we would only
buy a DOPATTA, we also knew which dopatta to buy so we pointed him the dopatta we want to purchase.

But he insisted us to check other Dopattas. He insisted us to check and trial one golden dopatta. He also insisted me to wear the pant which we bought from the other manyvar store.
Without thinking anything, I went inside the trail room and wore the pant, then Babul das came with the Kurta and came inside the trial room without asking me anything and closed the door of the trail room, then he asked me to open my tshirt and wear the kurta, i did the same infront of him. Then he without asking me held the rope of the pant to tie it, but he coninuously pulling my pant while tying the knot, and my under wear was visible to him, he kept looking at it. Then he kneeled down, and in the name of fixing the lower part of the pant, he kept on rubbing his hand over my leg and his head was few centimeters away from private part, I immediately moved away from him, but again he came back to the old position, and he continuously rubbing his hand all over my leg, and i said "hoyeche, r korte hobe na(its done, dont do it anymore)". Then while he was standing up, he still had his hand over my leg, and then he grabbed my private part and I immediately pushed him.

I didnt know how to react and what to do, and i came outside the trial room like nothing happened, talked to Chitralekha, billed what we had purchased and left the store. We went to a restaurent and while we were eating, I finally gathered the courage to tell about the incident to Chitralekha. She immediately asked me to come to the store and report the incident. We went back to the store, they were already half closed. I went inside the store and saw Babul Das and i asked him to come outside, he came and I asked "why did you do it?", he said he doesnt know what I am talking about. So I said I will report this to the manager, he said ok and we went inside. We asked who is the manager and someone pointed one person who was at the cash counter. We asked that we woule like to complain about a molestation incident butin private, but he said no we will have to complain infront of everyone. So there were at least ** aged male persons circling around us, I had to tell them what had happened and what he did to us. Some of them laughed while we were telling them, some did not say anything, some supported Babul Das and said "Aisa ho jata h sometimes(sometimes it happens)" and was shouting one us, there was one prson specifically who was shouting at me and Chitralekha. So when they ignored our complain, we said we would raise the complain to police and Manyavar headoffice and they threatened us "jo kaarna h kaar lo, dekh lenge (do whatvere you want to do, we will see you)". It was already **:** pm at night, and since we didnt know about the nearest police station and Chitralekha had to go home. We came back home. I could not sleep the most of the night having nightmares.

The next day I raised a written/telephonic complaint to Manyavar main office, and Sasmita Pradhan called me. So I explained her about the incident, and she told me not to go to the police, they will investigate, take action and fulfil our demand if we have anything. She also scared me by saying that I will be harrassed if i go to the police. So I didnt report it to the police and waited and after one week on **th April, Sasmita from Manyavar called me and asked me about the financial settlement through which we can solve this issue, She asked an amount from me, and I told her **,**,*** (** lakhs). Then she responded after I followed up with her, that they will give me a **** INR Manyavar voucher to resolve this issue.

They stalled me from going to the police and scared me by saying that Police will harras me. And how disgusting it is for them to offer me a **** INR voucher, they took my mental suffereing and what I am going through as a joke. What has happened mentally broke me. They didnt train their employees how to behave with their customers.

I want to send them a legal notice for all these incident and ask them to pay me and my female friend a **,**,*** INR compensation, They not only verbally abused me, they did the same with my friend Chitralekha as well. They are responsible for everything.
