Sub; - Defunct drainage system in Gousia Colony Lane - * Rangpora Ilahibagh Srinagar.

Resected sir,

With reference to the subject captioned above, we the residents of Gousia Colony Lane-* Rangpora ilahibagh Srinagar UT of J&K have honour to invite your kind attention towards a severely gnawing problem of dilapidated and grossly blocked underground drainage system. This drainage system was constructed by NBCC during the tenure of the then chief minister of J&K, Gh Nabi Azad.

It is a total failure as some *-* inch diameter pipes have been placed underground with impunity all along the area, it did run smoothly for some time as population was sparse. With increase in population it could not bear the threshold of street run off and as well as daily waste water from households, with the result major portion of this drainage is blocked at multiple places causing the whole sewerage water either ooze out from manhole and accumulate in low lying areas or backflow into courtyards of every household.

Concerned officials of NBCC at your srinagar office were repeatedly requested to look into the matter but they always tried to play a second fiddle and never made any amends in our day to day sufferings. Lately they deputed some labourers to clear the sewerage pipes but this effort did not yield any results on ground.

Keeping in view the above mentioned woeful tale, we are very much hopeful that your kind self will pay a compassionate hearing to our genuine problems and J&K unit of your organisation is directed to set the problem right at the earliest.

hope we may not have to file a PIL against your organisation for failing to help restore this basic amenity.
