i arrived at bangalore airport from jfk air port via delhi on **th june along with three more of my family members (ai ***). one of checked baggage is totally broken (baggage tag no: ai******) and the contents are missing. complaint was given to mr. jeevan who was at the counter but he asked me to send e-mail also.
i emailed and tried to contact the number given by him (***-********). but nobody is answering the call and i am tired of calling. finally today, after trying for more than **-** times over ** days, i could talk to mr. amal. but still they are asking questions and no answer. the other day mr. jeevan did not even give me the acknowledgement for my complaint. what kind of customer service is this?
again, i explained everything and sent e-mail with the photos of the broken baggage. then they have sent an e-mail claiming that they have compensated rs. *** for the damage.
in fact, on that day, first of all two of my baggages were damaged and not one. the first one which was a good skybag suitcase whose zip was broken. mr. jeevan said, ai can compensate me rs. *** for this bag to get the zip fixed and of course it was clearly visible to anybody that nothing has come out of the bag. anyway, the zip of that can not be fixed and i have to discard the bag!
the second bag was this which was totally broken with all its contents around and some things were put in polythene bag which was also torn. by looking at the pictures i have sent, ai is claiming that its contents are intact!
this broken baggage had tsa inspection slip which is a routine inspection being done at jfk. i am surprised that ai blaming tsa for this breakage! in fact, four of seven baggages had tsa slip. i have been travelling for the past twenty years and every year at least *-* baggages will have this and which is nothing to do with the broken luggage. this is entirely due to negligent handling of baggage by the ai personnel.
i need the compensation for the same and once again attaching the pictures of the bag which ai claims that the contents were intact.
