I have a really big story or I should call it a misery. India Ghoomo is the company & Mr Prashant was the agent, I think they found us on tripshelf. But all the discussions happened over phone & e-mails. I have the e-mail which I can share.
To start with, I was given a very good deal (I thought) because it was a decent price with attracting payment terms (**% initial payment, **% - ** days after the initial payment, remaining **% to be paid on the second day of the tour). Also, we were told that we will receive the flight tickets within an hour of the initial payment. I had made the initial payment in parts on **st & **nd of Jan a total of One Lakh And Ten Thousand Rupees. But had not received the tickets even after a couple of days. After repeated emails to Mr Prashant who started giving reasons, I finally received the flight tickets on **th Jan. We were supposed to receive the hotel vouchers within * to * days after the initial payment. But didn't receive it even after a week instead I get an email asking for the second instalment (**% of total amount) which was against the payment terms discussed. Then after forcing he sends some vouchers & asks to make at least half of the **% & remaining half - to be paid after Feb *th.
I agreed & sent him Twenty Five Thousand Rupees. Feb **th I received the request for the remaining amount of the *nd instalment & I transferred. Jump to Mar *th we were supposed to receive the complete details of the trip including contact numbers ** days before the departure but haven't received anything yet. So I mail Mr Prashant. Again new reasons & finally he shared it just a day before the journey & also asked to pay us all the remaining money - the last **% which we were supposed to pay directly in Thailand.
After a lot of discussions, hesitation and everything I agreed to pay Twenty Thousand Rupees on Mar **th - I was tortured with repeated calls to pay the amount when I was in the airport to board the flight to Thailand. Till now though nothing went according to the plan, I had a slight hope of a smooth trip. The hope only doubled when we saw the cab waiting for us when we came out of the airport. I was overjoyed that finally, things are falling in place. But the joy lasted just about an hour. As we reach the hotel the hotel says no booking & then after a lot of drama - hotel says it's showing up in the upgraded list but there is no payment made against it. Hotel is for later, I had clearly told Mr Prashant that one of the main reasons for me to pick IndiaGhoomo was that he had promised a room to freshen up as we were landing in Thailand sometime around midnight.
But what actually happened - no room to freshen up, no payment done at the hotel. Tried to contact Mr Prashant who was happily sleeping without responding to calls. The other number that he had given was of Mr Tushar who was handling only the logistics & said he cannot help us in the rooms & suggested we get rooms for ourselves for the night.
We constantly tried to reach Mr Prashant for * hours & finally gave up on it as we had * ladies with us & we were on the road for * hours already, did not see any help coming our way. So finally took rooms.
Day *: Morning Mr Prashant calls up with a sorry & after an argument says he's gonna discount the price we paid. He books rooms for us fresh & this time - without breakfast while the actual plan included breakfast. Again another argument & he said he would discount that as well.
According to the plan we were supposed to go to FantaSea show in the evening but we had not yet received any voucher for it yet. When contacted he said it will definitely happen & asked us to be ready by * pm. So we went out & returned back to the hotel & were waiting for the cab. Then around *:** Mr Prashant calls us to say that we cannot have it that day & he will plan for the next day - deviations from the plan were not new but didn't expect this. The point here is if he had informed us earlier we would have returned to the hotel by waited, instead we would have continued wandering by our own.
Day *: The actual plan had a city tour with some of the best places to visit. But we were taken to Big Buddha, Chang temple & a Honey Farm & said the tour is over. But the change was not only in the places we had to visit but a lot more. Our morning started with a wait of a few couples of hours again. We tried contacting the logistics guy Mr Tushar who said there is no confirmation from Prashant & by the time he got the confirmation & arranged for the cab. It was close to noon when the cab reached us. We didn't have a clear idea about what time the cab would come. We were told the cab will be at the arriving in ** min every time we called them. So we waited & waited. Fell asleep in the lobby finally, when we were about to leave to the room (fed up of waiting for about *H) the cab arrived. We started the journey. Cab guy tells us he is taking to a beach for a view. We ask him for the places that are in our itinerary & he tells us that none of those will be covered & there is a different list that will be covered. I call Mr Prashant again who says it will be covered but pay the remaining amount immediately. When I asked him about the room & bf charges he said deduct & pay it. (Blackmail) I said will pay it as planned and also the pending amount was only INR **,***/-. But he insisted we pay it immediately else he would cancel the rest of the tour & the cab will not move further.
This is like I have paid him close to * Lakhs as & when he asked even though he asked us to pay even before what was actually discussed now he says the trip will not continue until I pay the remaining. He also said if we pay this amount he will make sure the rest goes smoothly else as said it will end there & he will cancel all the hotel bookings, flights & other plans right away.
So with no other option, I asked one, my friend, to transfer the amount & we transferred within ** min. But that day's plan went for a toss wasted as it was not according to the plan a big Budha, a temple & finished it with a bee farm (which was commercial bee farm). After repeated arguments, we got the FantaSea vouchers for that evening & he said a couple of places that we missed that day will be covered when are being transferred to Krabi.
So *nd day which was supposed to be a full day city tour ended as a ** pm to * pm (including an hour where we had to stop for lunch by our own after so much tension, mental torture & pain). Evening again we were asked to be in the lobby by * but the cab comes ** min late. But we were happy that the cab turned up so early. We felt ** min late was actually early going by their standards. Once the cab arrived return back to the hotel was smooth.
Day *: Phi Phi Island tour & Cruise Dinner
Phi Phi Island tour was the only thing that went smooth. Though the Phi Phi tour was smooth the day was not without we trying to reach Mr Prashant & he disconnecting our calls/leaving our calls & messages unanswered. We were trying to get the Cruise dinner vouchers. So when Mr Prashant sent me the quotes initially I had asked him about the cruise dinner & he had said we can either choose * dinners or * cruise dinner. But neither of them happened. We finally didn't get the vouchers for cruise dinner nor the dinners.
Day *: Prashant had told us that the missed places during the city tour on day * would be covered on day *. But when the cab arrived & we checked with Mr Tushar he said the missed places are in the opposite direction from Krabi. So got cheated every single day. Though the cab had a flat tyre we finally reached Krabi by around * pm. No lunch yet but there were things worse to be worried about. Again no booking in Krabi. We tried repeatedly calling Prashant who initially said he will give us new vouchers in a few mins & then had switched off both his numbers in some time. Waited for * hours on the road again to see if this guy will call us back with the vouchers. After paying so much money we were left with no food & on the road in a totally new place. Finally, we decided no point in waiting for him & made the payment ourselves to the hotel. By then we were short of cash & had started to think of spending cash even for drinking water or having a proper meal. We had no vouchers for the next day as well. We were by now so sure that he is not going to provide us with anything.
Repeated calls unanswered Mr Tushar was helpless. We decided to put in all the cash we had & go for the *-island tour the next day so we had to reduce our dinner budget & we ended sleeping with just pancakes.
Day *: As the usual first thing we did was try to reach out to Mr Prashant hoping that he would at least transfer some money. But as usual, he doesn't respond. Goes on till late afternoon & finally, he answers the call, gives some stupid reason & assures us of transferring a certain amount in the next hour or so. We had no option so we waited hoping to get the money. But as usual, he cheats us again. We were by now angry lost all hope but just wanted to make sure we reach the airport the next day & back home. We had no confirmation if we would be getting a cab to Phuket airport from Krabi hotel. We were so worried & afraid that we didn't have any money left for the cab & would get stuck here. We had called up Mr Tushar on the *th day evening & enquired if he has got any info about dropping us back to the Airport on the *th day (we had a late flight). As expected he had no information about it & that was the final nail.
We were so shocked & didn't know what to do. For once lost my patience totally but since we were in a foreign land with women with us we had to plead to try reaching out to Mr Prashant again. No points for guessing what would have happened no response. We went back to Mr Tushar & explained our situation. Luckily he understood our situation & assured that regardless of whether Prashant pays him or not he would get us dropped to the airport a big thanks to Mr.Tushar.
Nope, this is not the end to the story. We came back to India & I told Mr Prashant that I would go to the court for which he suggested that we discuss & settle this out. We tried for more than a month & all we could get was INR three thousand only. Even after repeatedly telling him that I would go to the court he finally said go do whatever you want but I ain't giving you any money. So I talking for all the * of us who went on this trip to Thailand with IndiaGhoomo would request action on this, please.
