I was travelling on Air India flight from Pune - Delhi - Stockholm.
On Delhi airport, when I was about to board the flight, I was asked to wait for checking the cabin luggage weight. Ideally it should have been checked when I submitted my Check-In bags. I was carrying a heavy server grade laptop which was weighing around *Kg along with the charger and Powerbank.
I had also purchased some duty free items of about * Kg weight. So my cabin luggage was little out of the limit(by * KG of which * KG was duty free items and * KG excess weight due to heavy laptop).
The Air India staff literally blackmailed me to pay the charges for the excess luggage of * KG with ** USD per KG taxes otherwise they will not allow me to board the flight and remove my Checked-In luggage from the flight.
I had to pay INR *****.**(USD *** + taxes) for *KG extra weight where as the extra * PC baggage of ** KG costs USD ***. Once I paid the amount, I asked for the receipt and I was told that the receipt will be sent over an email.
But I did not receive the receipt yet even after writing to Air India customer care.
I feel the amount charged is excessive and would like to ask for refund of the amount. Please look into this matter and check if the amount can be refunded.
