On **th Aug ****, I boarded the booked Sam Tourist Bus from Madiwala to Kodaikanal that we had booked via RedBus. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of troubling incidents that reflect negatively on the company's commitment to providing quality service:
Misleading Fare and Lack of Transparency: I was shocked to discover that the fare charged was significantly higher for the bus & service provided. We paid for an AC Bus but when we boarded the bus, the AC was not working. Upon checking, we were told once we touch Highway, they will switch on the AC. However, later on Highway, in the middle of nowhere, we were told that the AC was not working. Upon calling the owner of Sam Tourist and RedBus, we were told AC is not working and we have to continue on this bus else deboard the bus. When we demanded the refund, the numbers were blocked and since we were already on the highway in the middle of nowhere, we were left with no choice but to continue onwards in the same bus. This lack of transparency and misleading pricing practices are inexcusable and betray the trust of customers.
Unacceptable Delays and Communication Breakdown: The bus departure experienced significant delays, with no clear communication provided regarding the underlying reasons for these prolonged interruptions. The bus initiated its journey much later than scheduled, with the initial plan indicating an arrival at our destination by *:** AM on the **th. However, we were unexpectedly deboarded at a distance of **-** kilometers away from our intended destination, and this occurred at approximately **:** PM. Regrettably, the journey was fraught with additional setbacks, as the bus encountered two breakdowns during the course of the trip. Subsequently, we were informed that the bus could not proceed any further, leaving us in a state of distress and uncertainty. The situation reached a point where we were required to disembark well before reaching our intended destination. This unexpected disruption compelled us to arrange a separate cab, incurring extra expenses, in order to reach our final destination. This, in turn, necessitated the cancellation of our plans for the day. The complete lack of timely and accurate information during these developments not only led to frustration but also caused considerable inconvenience for all passengers, including myself.
Staff's Unprofessional Conduct: The bus staff's behavior was dismissive and unprofessional towards passenger concerns. Shockingly, the owner of Sam Tourist blocked our calls and failed to organize an alternate ride. This occurred on a perilous Ghat section road, where safety is compromised, and the bus's radiator caught fire. Both Sam Tourist and RedBus demonstrated extreme negligence and irresponsibility by callously disregarding passenger well-being.
Unsanitary Conditions and Discomfort: The bus's interior was in a state of disarray, with unclean seats and inadequate ventilation. The bus seats had fungus, dirty linen. As a consequence, passengers were subjected to an unpleasant and unsanitary atmosphere.
