I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the handling of my recent complaint regarding the damage to my luggage during my travel on SpiceJet Airline, Flight SG**, from Bangkok to Delhi on April *st, ****.
Upon arrival at Delhi airport, I discovered that my luggage, a brand new American Tourister bag, had suffered significant damage, particularly to the wheel side and other areas. This was deeply distressing as I had taken precautions by documenting the condition of my luggage during the check-in process. Despite my efforts, the bag was irreparably damaged, rendering it unusable.
I promptly filed a Baggage Irregularity Report and was informed that I would receive a response within ** hours. However, to my dismay, the compensation offered by SpiceJet was a mere *,*** INR. This amount is wholly inadequate given the extent of the damage and the value of the bag. It is clear that *,*** INR cannot cover the cost of repairing the bag, let alone providing a new one of the same brand.
I must emphasize that this is not the first time I have experienced such negligence from SpiceJet. In a previous incident with your domestic service, I encountered a similar issue, but due to my unfamiliarity with the process, I settled for less compensation. However, I cannot accept such disregard for customer satisfaction, especially when it results in significant financial loss for me.
I urge Voxya to reconsider their offer and provide a more reasonable compensation amount that reflects the value of the damaged luggage. At the very least, I request a new bag of the same brand and quality. It is essential that airlines take responsibility for the safe transport of passengers' belongings and address instances of mishandling with the seriousness they deserve.
