I’m a ** year member of Club Mahindra with membership no: *******. I upgraded my membership initially from blue to white and recently to Red during my holiday at Virajpet where club mahindra sales person hardly gave me time to decide. I told him specifically that my credit card expiry is nearing I do not intend to continue the card due to lack of services. I told him he can send his executive to my Chennai office and get EMI cheques but he will have none of it. He said it is the last day of the offer and also the offer is available only at the resort. It was during check out time and he was holding me for half an hour. I asked him what will happen to future payments after the card is expired. He told me I can pay this and then use a holiday and then if I do not pay the amount paid will be returned to my account reducing some minor amount as service charges which will more than offset the holiday in a higher season. It got to a point where he would not take ‘No’ for an answer and would not allow us to leave. I do not mean that he got physical but the sales talk was so persistent that ultimately I had to pay the first installment.
I did take an holiday in one up season and one more month’s EMI was debited. After this I was hoping my amount will be credited back and my membership will be reverted to White but strangely my money was adjusted towards ASF dues and I got a message that the remaining amount will be treated as advance ASF which will become due in the coming years. This is surprising since there is no consent from my side for this adjustment. Reverting the membership to white was done promptly.
I wrote a mail explaining the matter to club mahindra but only got automated messages. The amount they are holding is **K odd and my ASF amount is around **K. I clearly wrote a mail to them on reasons why the ASF should not be adjusted with this amount due to me but there was no reply from club mahindra.
I explained them that in these times we need to hang on to every rupee that we have and surely we cannot afford the luxury of paying ASF dues in advance. I warned them that I will be constrained to proceed against them legally for luring with false claims and cheating and also hoped that they would not push me such eventuality. No reply even for that mail and hence i'm filing a complaint here
