Majid Ali filed complaint against Bajaj General Insurance on May 23, 2026
I am filing this complaint against Bajaj General Insurance Limited for wrongful repudiation of my motor insurance claim, unfair settlement amounts, arbitrary exclusion of damaged parts, and complete failure of the internal grievance mechanism spanning ** days.
WHAT HAPPENED
My vehicle was damaged in an accident on **-MAR-****. I intimated the claim within ** hours. Two assessments were conducted based on photographs I submitted at the surveyor's request. An OTS of Rs ***** after deductions was calculated by the insurer's own team.
I raised two specific concerns about this OTS:
The bumper under cover was excluded despite being damaged in the same accident, clearly shown during assessment, and sitting in the same location as fender lining and engine shield which were included. No policy clause has ever been cited for its exclusion across nine detailed responses from the company.
Painting charges were offered at Rs **** per panel against the insurer's own empanelled BGPW garage rate of Rs **** for the same work - ** percent of their own network rate.
I offered to settle at Rs ***** after deductions - a difference of only Rs **** from their revised OTS. This offer was never acknowledged or responded to.
Instead of addressing these two concerns the insurer:
Wrongfully repudiated my claim on **-APR-**** citing Policy Condition No * which requires timely notice. My claim was intimated within ** hours. Policy Condition No * was fully satisfied. The repudiation letter's own subject line states the real reason as Vehicle Not Dropped Workshop Not Decided which is not a valid policy ground for repudiation. This letter has never been withdrawn.
Sent nine identical template responses across different names including Rekha Dhami, Shweta Kumari, Supriya Shelke and others to my registered IRDAI complaint - none addressing a single specific concern.
Level * authority Mr Jerome Vincent ignored every escalation email for ** days and then appeared as Grievance Redressal Officer to defend the same decisions he ignored - a direct conflict of interest and IRDAI compliance violation.
Level * authority Mr Ankit Goenka never responded and was quietly replaced by Mr Nikhil Bharadwaj without any resolution or acknowledgement.
Issued a pre-repudiation show cause notice while an active IRDAI complaint was already registered.
Their own team member Mr Bhupinder Singh confirmed in writing that OTS TAT is * days from registration. Claim registered **-MAR-****. Unresolved after ** days - entirely due to the insurer's own failure.
On a call on **-MAY-**** the insurer's representative acknowledged that I was wronged and treated unfairly by their Srinagar team. Despite this acknowledgement no resolution was offered and the same flawed assessment was maintained.
