Whirlpool fridge - Whirlpool Refrigerator Defect complaint

I Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on **.**.**** for a price of ***** INR from Bharat Electronics and Appliances Coimbatore - Tamil Nadu -INDIA WHIRLPOOL REF DC. During purchase, I was told that ** years warranty for the compressor. Last week, we started observing some abnormality in the refrigerator where we didn't feel the cooling & only the light is working.


We first took this issue to Whirlpool service partner SHREE REFRIGERATION(****-*******) , Whirlpool Engineers visited my house and inspect the refrigerator, declared that there is an issue with the compressor which is coming under warranty and while replacing the compressor we should lose gas. For gas refilling, I should pay the amount of **** INR(for * months warranty only) & they collected *** INR for service charge also.


My only concern is why should i pay **** INR to refill the gas due to the faulty of compressor , when i am having warranty for ** year,. How consumer will take the responsibility for manufacturing defect of the compressor/gas at the time of replacing the spare parts. That also has only * months warranty & If i face the same issue again after * months they ll charge another **** which accumulate the total cost of new refrigerator. Is this the level of reliability of the Whirlpool product?
