I am writing to express my deep disappointment and dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent flight with SpiceJet.
Yesterday, on my flight at ** pm, I had additional luggage due to carrying items for a friend who was also traveling on the same plane. To avoid any inconvenience to other passengers or delays at the counters, I handed over the bag to my friend in the waiting area.
Upon reaching the check-in counter, I was informed by the staff that they were aware the bag belonged to me. However, they charged me an exorbitant fee of INR *,***, which is more than the cost of my flight. The staff were not only rude but also blackmailed both me and my friend, threatening to close the counter if we did not pay.
Furthermore, I was charged extra for my laptop bag, despite the fact that your policy clearly states that laptop bags are allowed as an additional item. The justification given was that it was an extra piece and weighed more. This treatment is not only unfair but also unethical.
I would like to point out that nowhere on your website or any other official communication is it mentioned that handing over bags to fellow passengers is not allowed. This inconsistency in your policy and the selective application of rules, especially to passengers who are in a hurry, is unacceptable.
I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action against the staff involved. Moreover, I request a refund of the unjustified charges levied on me.
I have always considered SpiceJet for my travels, but after this experience, I am seriously reconsidering my choice. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
