Hello, My mother-in-law, Smt. Rashmi Master, had come to visit me and my wife in Switzerland on **.**.****. I had taken a travel insurance policy from Bajaj Allianz for USD ***,*** coverage (policy no : OG-**-****-****-********, Claim No : OC-**-****-****-********). Unfortunately, whilst here she suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away in November ****. I had filed a claim immediately back then. Now, after almost three months, Bajaj Allianz has repudiated the claim under the pre-existing condition which my mother-in-law never had. Here, I would like to point out they approached a homeopathy doctor my mother-in-law used to visit for a backache problem and fraudulently (by saying that this would help settle the claim soon in my mother-in-law's favor) obtained a certificate stating that she was under medication for hypertension and cholesterol for the past year just to deny the claim. My relatives in Mumbai met this doctor and upon explaining the situation, the doctor apologized for the mistake on their part and issued a new certificate stating the correct fact that my mother-in-law did not suffer from the said ailments. We even presented this to Bajaj Allianz. I urge you to not only make Bajaj pay as they are required to by law for the medical expenses, but also punish them severely for indulging in such fraudulent activities especially given the fact the person involved actually died and they still harassed the family to no end. I've already filed complaints with IRDAI and the consumer court online. Regards, Ravi Ramakrishnan
