Subject: Request for Refund Due to Misrepresentation and Poor Course Quality
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the Professional Certificate Course in Generative AI and Machine Learning that I enrolled in through Simplilearn. I paid ₹***,*** for this course, motivated by the assurances and representations made during the sales process.
Key Issues
Misleading Claims by Sales Team:
During the enrollment, Simplilearn’s representatives (referred to as “counsellors”) explicitly informed me that the course would be conducted by highly qualified tutors from IIT Kanpur and reputed industry professionals. This promise was a critical factor in my decision to make such a substantial investment.
Unqualified Instruction:
Contrary to all assurances, I have so far attended two modules—neither of which was led by any IIT Kanpur faculty. The sessions were handled by Simplilearn’s in-house tutors who demonstrably lack the industry experience and academic pedigree that was promised. Their teaching methods and content delivery fall short of the standards expected from an “IIT and Industry Professional” program.
Failure to Deliver on IIT Kanpur Involvement:
It has now been over two months, and not a single class has been conducted by an IIT Kanpur professor. On querying, the support team now claims that only one or two sessions per month might feature IIT-K faculty, with the rest conducted by Simplilearn tutors—info that was never disclosed pre-enrollment.
Lack of Value for High Fees:
The quality of instruction so far has not justified the exorbitant fee charged. The experience is indistinguishable from standard online courses available at a fraction of this price. I find the offering to be misleading and severely lacking in the promised value.
My Expectations
I enrolled because of the clear communication that the majority of sessions would be led by IIT Kanpur professors and high-level industry professionals.
The reality has been a bait-and-switch, where I am left with mostly internal, lesser-qualified trainers, and no or minimal IIT Kanpur involvement.
I feel grossly misled, and the product delivered in no way matches the service promoted at the point of sale.
Resolution Sought
Given the significant misrepresentation and lack of value received, I demand a full refund of my payment. I expect Simplilearn to address this complaint urgently and restore faith in its customer commitments.
