Go Mechanic - Scamming Car Owners by Quoting incorrectly

Go mechanic, had serviced my vehicle and I had an issue with stiff Steering, they asked for **k to fix the issue and when they delivered the car the issue still exists. The mechanic said to give it **-** days and the new caliper will be free in that time. After the issue persisted after a month, the mechanic took the car and asked for another **k coming up with a new problem. If I had knows this would end up costing me more than **k, I would've taken a different decision.
