I bought a new XUV*** AX* model which is less than * months old and it was affected by Chennai floods recently.
The Surveyor from ICICI Lombard insurance came and inspected the same and marked the car as total loss since the estimated repair cost was more than ** percent of the total IDV value.
When I spoke to the sales team for assistance regarding insurance, I was surprised to know the fact that RTI was not covered as add on :(.
The most saddest part is your sales executive is informs that RTI will be given only if customer explicitly asks.
Even after paying hefty amount on Rs ***** on for a car insurance, still you expect the customer to say that RTI is needed as add on.
The Next question is why Such Low IDV. The car is loss now and they are saying the will pay around ** Lakh only. If the RTI is already in place then it would have covered my entire invoice.
Am I the one who have to bear the loss and you guys enjoy the profit on both sides ?
