Chetan Sikka filed complaint against Renault India on Jan 4, 2019
I own a Duster rxl ** , purchased in dec ****. At the time of purchase I also bought an extended warranty for two years.
My car has just driven ***** kms approx.
I have been told by the service centre that the clutch of my car is faulty and needs replacement but is not covered under warranty.
I am also well informed that this is a very common problem with Duster and a lot of customers have faced it. By just typing " Renault Duster Clutch Problem" on Google will show numerous complaints ,same in nature and symptoms.
I do not engage in any off roading and use the car single handedly and very carefully. With barely *****kms covered and careful normal driving, how can the clutch become faulty of a car which is claimed to be tough.
This is a manufacturing defect
and requires free replacement of the defective parts as the car is still under warranty. The company is trying to show it as wear tear but it is not possible for a so called "compact suv" to cause exact same problem to hundreds of customers.
Following is a brief description about the problem.
I have been facing a gear shifting problem for the past one year.
The gear gets stuck while shifting from first to second.
The same was shown to the service centre more than six months ago and as per them some fix was done. But the problem has not resolved. On contacting the service centre recently again ,a thorough check was conducted and the clutch was declared faulty.
