Make My Trip - Refund refused for no fault of mine

We had booked a family trip to Europe with Make my trip for travelling on **th June. I was supposed to arrange for my visa with the support of documents from mmt. I applied for my visa at the France embassy in Saudi Arabia with the supporting docs provided by mmt on *st May. My visa was refused saying the proof of the intended stay was not reliable.
I literally begged mmt for around ** days requesting more reliable docs for re-applying for my visa. After getting the revised paper from them, I applied again on **th May. Yet again the visa was refused citing the same reason proof of intended stay not reliable. The time left for the trip was short so I asked for a solution from them. The representative said there would be a minimum cancellation charges and the amount would be refunded so I proceeded with the cancellation. I had paid a sum of Rs ****** for the booking and spent Rs ***** for my visa application.
At this juncture another representative stepped in and took over the communication.
After ** days of repeated requests for the refund, they said they will not refund any amount.
First of all they delayed the provision of the documents for visa application, secondly they told they would refund with minimal cancellation charges and now they simply consumed the entire amount. If they had told they would not refund I could have changed the date of my travel.
