Divakara Rao Nibhanapudi filed complaint against Make My Trip on Oct 18, 2018
We booked a *Day/*Night Ooty Holiday Package(ex-Bangalore) from MakeMyTrip.com (Booking ID: NL*************)to celebrate our **th wedding anniversary.
On **th August, **** while on our holiday at Ooty we stepped out of the car briefly. Later we discovered that two golden bangles and a golden necklace valued at about Rs *,**,*** were missing from our bag which was in the car. The driver pleaded complete innocence.
Our desperate efforts to reach the Holiday Manager or MMT’s helpdesk/ support center proved futile. Their IVR system was taking us on loops and each of the persons we spoke to was transferring the call to the main switch board again for us to start all over again. The Transport co-ordinator was of no help.
As we approached the Police Station at Whitefield, Bangalore the driver returned the bangles but not the necklace.
We then had no alternative but to lodge a complaint against the driver at Police Station, Whitefield, Bangalore. When the Police put the driver in Lockup and questioned him he returned the Necklace. The Police informed us that he had a Criminal History in Police records.
The reason we chose to purchase the holiday with MakeMyTrip despite its higher charges was that they would exercise due diligence in choosing the Transport, Driver and Hotels and that there would be a Help Desk to address emergencies. We were appalled at the unprofessional way in which emergency was handled by MakeMyTrip causing us tension and mental agony. MakeMyTrip through their negligence exposed us to grave danger of life and property by engaging as our driver a criminal with Police Record. This episode has caused us enormous harassment and mental agony.
Upon taking up the matter with MakeMyTrip (Complaint Ref: Reference ID:[******-******] NL*************), they expressed their regret and offered future travel vouchers worth Rs ****/- which we politely declined and demanded a token sum of Rs *,**,***/- as compensation.
I got my refund. You guys have really helped me when I needed it the most! Thanks again for your help :-)
