Divyam Gupta filed complaint against Ola Auto on May 9, 2022
On **th April, I was picked up from Kolkata and dropped to Mandarmani at *:** PM. I didn't use the cab after that. Later that night, driver said, he met with some accident and we arranged medical service for him through the hotel. Later, he said he wants to cancel our further trip and return to Kolkata in night itself, leaving us stranded. Further, he demanded, we pay for damages to car (which was ridiculous since we were not in car when this happened, and had no liability). He threatened that he will go to "local thaana" against us. He stopped picking up Ola safety supervisor's phone.
So, the supervisors asked me to stop picking up his call as well, and my ride will be cancelled on **th April *:** PM and I will be charged only the KM I actually traveled until that point, nothing more. However, even after multiple assurances, this didn't happen and my driver kept on calling me, and driving around. Finally, the ride was ended on *nd May, after driving *** km instead of around ***-*** km and I was charged **,*** rs. I had also paid **** rs to driver (*** in cash, *** through Gpay) and all of this is documented in my recorded calls.
I have urged Ola to rectify the bill amount right away to indicate I didn't travel in cab after *:** pm on **th April, and also indicate I have already paid **** rs to the driver. Further, I had to pay **** to get back safely to Kolkata, while my initial round trip estimate was ****. Keeping this in mind, I should not be paying more than **** rs for Ola's inability to ensure a safe trip for me.
All of this was repeatedly assured to me by the safety team supervisors while the ride was going on. But now, they seem to have left their duty and not revising the bill even after **+ calls.
