IFB Industries Ltd - IFB Failure to Provide AMC Services Despite Payment

Complaint Details:
I, Tamizhventhan K R, resident of Porur, Chennai, had opted for an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) with IFB for my washing machine (Model: SENORITA WXS, AMC No. ********, valid from **.**.**** to **.**.****). The AMC terms clearly state that the company shall provide two mandatory free services per annum during the contract period.

However, during the entire AMC period, no general service has been provided.
• On **nd August ****, I contacted IFB Customer Care. Executive Ramya promised that a service request would be raised, but no call back or action followed.
• On **th August ****, I contacted Customer Care again. Executive Dhanushiya informed me that the service would be provided only in November ****, i.e., after expiry of my AMC.
• When I requested AMC extension to cover the missed services, the request was denied.
• I escalated to the Manager, who initially refused to admit IFB’s lapse, and later responded discourteously, as if the service was a favour.

This is a clear case of:
• Deficiency in Service – IFB failed to honour mandatory service obligations under AMC.
• Unfair Trade Practice – Charging for AMC services but not delivering them.
• Breach of Contract – Violation of Clause ** of the AMC.

I would also like to highlight that a similar incident happened in the previous AMC (AMC No. ********, **.**.**** – **.**.****) where no services were provided despite repeated follow-ups.

Relief Sought:
*. Immediate scheduling of all pending free services under the AMC.
*. Extension of AMC validity to cover missed services.
*. Compensation for harassment, mental agony, and financial loss.
*. Assurance that such lapses will not occur in future.
