Makemytrip Limited - Flight ticket refund

I had booked round trip tickets for (* adults & * child - * tickets) from Mumbai to Toronto through MMT on **th Feb ****. The flights - Etihad airways for journey Mumbai-Abu Dhabi-Toronto on **th April **** and the return journey through Jet Airways (Toronto-Amsterdam-Mumbai on *th May).

Both tickets were through different PNR and both PNR showed confirmed on respective airlines website.

On **th April ****, the Jet airways flight from Toronto to Amsterdam of *th May **** was cancelled and I was informed by MMT as well as Jet Airways. Also on **th April I got communication from MMT as well as Jet that the Amsterdam-Mumbai flight is also cancelled.

Knowing the situation of Jet, I had booked a separate return ticket on **th April **** itself for the journey Toronto-Abu Dhabi-Mumbai by Etihad through MMT portal. I tried calling MMT for initiating refund but couldn’t get through due to high waiting times.

I was never informed that my Etihad onward flight of **th April from Mumbai will not be honored – neither by MMT or Etihad as it was apparently sold through Jet stock. Etihad website showed PNR to be active but got to know from Etihad on **th April that ticket is invalid. MMT never communicated on cancellation of this Etihad ticket nor helped subsequently. Their only response till date has been they are waiting for funds from Jet.
Because of their callousness, i had to cancel the separately booked Etihad return tickets by paying Rs. *.* lacs cancellation fee. And because of this i had to rebook tickets at *x the prices through Emirates. Overall damages are Rs. *.* lacs but MMT should atleast payback the ticket fare lost of Rs. * lacs and Rs. *.* lacs cancellation fee charged by MMT for return leg. Also interest @ **% p.a. since this happened in April ****.
