Hitachi air conditioner - faulty window ac

i purchased a window ac in ****.last year it stopped working and the service people said the fan motor was not working and would take **** to change it.since our other ac's of different companies were working fine we left it at that.now when we called the service people they say both fan motor and pvc unit are not working nd have taken it for repair.are we to assume that a renowned company like hitachi is incapable of making good ac which do not work properly for even * years while other companies like carrier or even to say haier are proving better.can the service people of the company be also not trusted and are only trained to fleece the customers.now theyv are going to charge around **** tentatively.keeping my fingers crossed to see whether the ac functions properly.
