Tanu Aggarwal filed complaint against One Plus on Mar 6, 2020
Bought a One plus *t (Dec ****) in wake of rave reviews and good brand. Have been receiving the hanging problem, auto on off since the beginning at random. Apprised the same to OnePlus Exclusive Service Center, Connaught Place, Delhi * times but of no use. Every time I was suggested to bring, when the problem is persistent. Till the time, actual warranty expired and a complimentary extended warranty for one year started. The problem aggravated in mid Feb **** and I visited the OnePlus Exclusive Service Center, Connaught Place on *nd March ****. I was asked by the engineer about the problem to which I told him that I have been experiencing the same issue since the beginning but at random and the problem has been increasing since October ****.
He opened the phone and told that the motherboard needs to be changed, checked properly and said it is actually bent. I was bemused that how can a motherboard inside be bent, so told him to check if the phone is also bent. Transitioning the bemusement into reality, the handset was also bent. The engineer asked if it has been fallen. Surprisingly, not expecting such an irrational question when the phone is scratch less, how come a handset without any scratch/dent be bent by a customer. I replied that that there had not been any such instance then a ultimate reply been given which I cannot think in the wildest of my dreams that you must had kept it in your pocket and it has been bent by the force of sitting down. Astonished by the same, I was speechless for a moment after hearing such an admiring reason, I told that it may be manufacturing defect but he totally denied that it can’t be. The service request was cancelled, phone given back in the same condition and was told by the engineer that bent motherboard is not covered under warranty as you have bent it and asked for Rs. ***** when in warranty.
One Plus has been flaunting itself as a lifestyle brand but such pathetic customer care has been a travesty of harassment and just felt like fleeced by purchasing the one plus. A manufacturing defect of the company has been changing hands after the exchange of money.
