Dhl Express India - DHL Charging Heavy duty from customer without prior info notice

After the shipment (Personal) landed from Uk to India DHL asked me to pay customs duty which is **%.

*) If I Had known this earlier very high duty while making an order I would have never used this DHL service for sure.
*) After the pickup or order was posted No one from DHL informed me about this heavy-duty need to pay.
*) DHL was supposed to inform us earlier while posting the order online / via call/email
*) If this is mandatory duty why DHL portal not showing in the first place, Why DHL is not transparent with the customer and asking for money after landing the shipment?

All of sudden how the customer will pay a heavy duty which is higher than the product cost without prior info.


I have paid **** Rs courier charges with Insurance of package.
