I am writing to formally escalate a critical safety failure regarding my XUV*** AX* purchased in July ****. The vehicle is currently stranded at your authorized service center in Coimbatore.
While driving, the vehicle suffered a sudden and complete display failure. Both the infotainment screen and the driver instrument cluster went pitch black. The service center has diagnosed this as a failure of the Visteon "Silver Box" and handed me an unacceptable estimate of ₹**,*** for its replacement.
I flatly refuse to pay for this, as this is undeniably a fault on the company's end:
*. Severe Safety Hazard: A blank driver console leaves me driving entirely blind—with no speedometer, no engine temperature warnings, and no ADAS notifications. This sudden failure while the vehicle is in motion is a severe safety hazard that endangers lives.
*. Premature Failure & Known Manufacturing Defect:
The standard warranty covers * years. The fact that a core, non-consumable central computer failed at exactly *.* years is proof of a glaring manufacturing defect. A head unit is expected to last the lifetime of the vehicle. Furthermore, it is a well-documented fact that early batches of the XUV*** have faulty Silver Boxes. Mahindra has issued multiple software flashes for this exact issue and has quietly replaced hundreds of these units for other customers. I will not bear the financial burden for your supplier's poor quality control.
