Vi Network - Charged extra for vi postpaid

I have been a postpaid customer of voda since a decade.was using a redx plan but the bill was excessive so decided to switch to a lower account .Changed to redmax but I was billed **** for the month of may** as the exit charges for the plan!!What do u mean by exit charges was I bound to use that plan??I wasn't even informed for this.im planning to port to jio now.
