I am filing this complaint against Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) for an absolute product quality failure, unfair trade practices, and the refusal to honor a Goodwill Warranty for an obvious manufacturing component defect.
My vehicle has covered an exceptionally low mileage of just **,*** km and has a flawless, authorized service history. On **th May ****, the vehicle was reported to the workshop of M/s Ci Hyundai due to a DPF warning light. The workshop conducted a diagnostic check and flashed an official Hyundai ECU software update.
Immediately following this software update, a catastrophic internal failure occurred. The workshop sent me a video inspection showing that the heavy-duty internal steel support mesh of the catalytic converter assembly had completely disintegrated, unraveled, and collapsed.
In an official email communication dated June *nd, ****, Territory Parts & Service Manager, HMIL explicitly admitted: "On diagnosis, internal mesh of CATCON assy found burnt."
An emissions component like a catalytic converter is legally and mechanically engineered to last the lifetime of a vehicle (up to *.* Lakh km). For a structural steel core to literally "burn up" and collapse at just **,*** km is undeniable proof of an inherent factory material defect. This defect was aggressively triggered under the workshop's direct care by the volatile thermal parameters of Hyundai's own ECU software update.
Despite this clear evidence, the HMIL territory management is treating this manufacturing defect as "regular wear and tear." They are refusing a full Goodwill Warranty and have offered a meager **% discount on parts, expecting me to pay nearly ₹***,*** out-of-pocket for a factory anomaly.
Relief Demanded:
* Direct Hyundai Motor India Ltd. to authorize a ***% free-of-cost replacement of the Catalytic Converter / DPF Assembly under a full Goodwill Warranty.
* Complete waiver of all associated labor, hardware, and scanning charges.
* Assurance that the vehicle is rendered fully roadworthy without any financial liability to the consumer.
