Groww nextbillion technology pvt ltd - Trading Loss Due to GROWW Broker Platform Failure Demand for Compensation

Subject: Formal Complaint and Demand for Compensation Due to Trading Platform Failure on ** Nov ****.

Dear Sir,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious technical failure on the Groww trading platform on ** November ****, which resulted in substantial financial loss to me.
Facts of the matter:-
On ** November ****, I bought * lots of NIFTY ** Nov ***** Put (PE) at an average price of ₹***.**.
Immediately thereafter, I attempted to sell / cancel / modify my order multiple times for more than ** minutes, but the Groww terminal repeatedly showed errors such as “Modification not allowed” and “Cancellation not allowed”.
This was clearly a technical failure at the broker’s end, as evidenced by the screenshots attached.
Due to the inability to exit the position in a timely manner, I suffered a direct trading loss of approximately ₹**,***.
Under extreme stress caused by this platform failure, I over-traded in an attempt to recover losses, resulting in brokerage and charges of ₹*,***.**.
Till date, I have paid a total of ₹**,***.** towards brokerage and statutory charges, despite not receiving uninterrupted and reliable trading services.
Violation of regulatory obligations:
As per SEBI Circulars on broker obligations, stock brokers are required to:
Provide robust, reliable, and uninterrupted trading systems.
Ensure fair access to order placement, modification, and cancellation.
Failure of a trading platform leading to financial loss constitutes deficiency in service under the Consumer Protection Act, ****.
Charging brokerage while failing to provide the contracted service is unfair trade practice.
My demand: In view of the above facts and legal position, I hereby demand:
Compensation of ₹**,*** towards trading loss, mental harassment, and consequential costs.
A written explanation detailing the exact technical failure on ** Nov ****.
Confirmation of corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
Please note that if this matter is not resolved within ** days of receipt of this complaint, I shall be constrained to:
Escalate the matter to SEBI SCORES
File a complaint before the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, entirely at your risk as to costs and consequences.
