I am filing this complaint against HeyCoach, an EdTech company, for lack of transparency, misleading onboarding practices, and refusal to cancel an education loan that was disbursed without proper consent or service delivery.
On July *, ****, I had a call with a HeyCoach representative regarding their course. During the call (which was partially recorded), represtative explained the course details and encouraged me to proceed quickly with enrollment. After the recording was stopped, he verbally assured me that in case of personal emergencies, a refund or loan cancellation would be allowed.
Based on this verbal assurance, I paid a ₹*,*** processing fee and submitted a loan application through GyanDhan, which was processed via HDFC
On the very next day — July *, due to a family emergency and growing suspicion about the process (no admission ID, no welcome mails no onboarding emails, no access to course), I formally requested cancellation. However, my calls were ignored, and I was not given any clear response for several days.
I also sent an official email on July ** again requesting loan cancellation and refund. HeyCoach refused, citing a rigid "no refund policy” (Clause **.*) which was never disclosed to me at any point before payment.
Timeline of My Mental and Emotional Strain:
July *: Assured verbally that I can cancel in special cases. Based on that trust, I enrolled and applied for the loan.
July * onwards: I realized there was no onboarding, no service provided, and started to feel I was scammed.
From July * to **, I went through anxiety, made dozens of calls, and received no help. This impacted my health as I was already under pressure after leaving my job and handling personal grief.
Their negligence has caused me severe mental pressure, especially because I am now liable to pay loan interest for a service I never received .I am a student on garden leave with no active income.
I am now stuck with a loan I didn’t benefit from, and no support from the institute.
The financial and emotional toll has been devastating, causing stress-related health issues, including triggering my medical condition (hemorrhoids).
Despite reaching out with multiple mails and complaints — including NCH complaint escalation — HeyCoach continues to ignore the urgency of my situation.
I am requesting:
*. Immediate cancellation of the loan disbursed via GyanDhan/HDFC to HeyCoach.
*. Refund of the ₹*,*** processing fee.
*. Accountability for deceptive trade practices, emotional distress, and financial harm caused.
I trusted HeyCoach to help me grow, but I feel misled, ignored, and financially exploited. I urge the authorities to ensure that no other student goes through what I have experienced.
