Abhinav Singh filed complaint against HDFC Life on Oct 27, 2020
I have bought a policy number ******** from HDFC Life through telemarketing. I have bought this policy on *th July ****. I was offered a health insurance with the policy and ***** cashback as well. I was regularly following up to get the offers but Agent said that due to COVID pandemic, the process is slow and asked me to wait for sometime. I also asked him about the look up period so he told me it's ** days from the date when I will receive a "HARD Copy and BOND PAPERS" of the life insurance and health insurance at my home address which I never received.
When after multiple follows ups and ** days past, l wrote to HDFC but no response received. Then I raised a complaint on HDFC Life online portal on *th Sep **** and got a complaints number "W********" but too my surprise I didn't get any response from them even after ** days. So I escalate the issue to Associate Vice President - Customer Relations (Level *), but no response received from there as well.
I raised the complaint in IRDA and got a response within few hours and they ask me too provide proof. I send them call recodings of the conversation with the agent but again no response received. I again mail them and they ask for proof again. This happened * times and they kept denying to receive any proof. I also send them proof of sending proof but no response received from them.
It seems like it's a common practise in HDFC Life to make false promises to the customer while selling the policy and then ignore their complaint.

My two years of blood & sweat got valued finally with Voxya. I got a full refund with no hustle after they received notice.
