My wife traveled to USA in April **** for * weeks, during this entire stay only internet service which she used was secure wifi at office, hotel and airport.

After her return her Ida Cellular bill came to some INR **,*** for overseas data usage of **mb.

Since she has never ever requested Idea for enabling international roaming and was not having any kind of service available on her phone overseas She immediately raised issue with idea customer care and requested them to rectify and fix error at their end.

After repeated emails, even visiting their centre and filing complaint on applet there wasnt any acceptable solution proposed, she asked them to stop services to said sim till Idea fixed error at their end and provided them alternate mobile number for any further communication.

As there was no international roaming, she used her office and hotel secured wifi all the time so obviously no reason to have ever used idea service overseas.

Idea not only on its own enabled international roaming as per their claim but increased her credit many folds that too she had no idea untill above bill was received.

What Idea did is had their recovery agents go through her call history and made random calls to her clients n whoever they could giving all false stories of she has criminal case hearing in court n shes not present n could be arrested n so on. She has took screenshots of number and call duration as few ppl sent it to her on whatapp

She immediately raised issue with idea customer care, who justified that they have rights to do whatever they want As far as we know Only police n court can request access for personal data if required.

Due to this constant harassing She had to visit medical expert because of severe anxiety and uneasiness, We have all the details of Doctors diagnosis and medication suggested.

They dont even respect customers life for recovery on some untrue bill.

Idea sent her lok adalat notice to which she did attended and refused to pay anything as she has not consumed any of mentioned service.


What are legal options for her available,
*] she does not want to pay for service not requested ever or even used.
If she was overseas for more than ** days, how come as per ideas bill she used **MB data
once not all the time?

When ideas international pack charges for data – call use are like *** rs or **** rs for good
over * to * GB, how can it raise ***** for **MB of data

*] Criminal activity of accessing personal data and telling fabricated stories which caused
business loss as well image among clients

*] Due to harassment she was on verge of serious health issue had she not went to doctor n got
medication

Please let us know what should be our course of action and how we resolve this for once and all without paying for something never requested or consumed.
