On **th Jan ****, I purchased a brand new Tata Nexon (P) XMA + (S) with registration number - KA ***** , Chassis number : ****** at Prerana Motors Pvt. Ltd, Lalbagh road Branch.
Unfortunately when driving the car I found it was not satisfactory as it didn't even cross **KMph. Also I can see an engine malfunction indication lamp(amber color) being turned on continuously ever since I bought it.
During my journey to MM hills, I could see the Check engine light being turned on and also the car did not give sufficient pickup. On trying to contact Prerana motors after several attempts, sales representative **** informed he would come back on the issue which he did not. On trying with a toll free number, we were able to connect finally with someone who insisted us to stop the vehicle mid way or to reach Mysore where he would arrange someone around to check with the issue. I was in the middle of a forest when all this happened where we were suggested to halt the car. This caused a lot of mental trauma to be stuck in the middle of a forest. We somehow managed to reach Bangalore and asked Tata Service center to pickup the car for service to which they did not respond even after several hours of calling. We somehow managed to take the car to the nearest service center - Kudlu Gate (Bangalore) - where the service person informed it was a minor issue and would get it fixed in a day. We did not receive any intimation later even after a day. I started following up and after several hours of calling, a technician replied saying there was major issue with the engine and it would take * days for it get repaired. There was no proper information about the issue with the car and everytime I tried to contact them I was told different issues and extension in the number of days required.
I seem to have got a defective car despite waiting for * months[Initial booking date was on **th August ****] for the delivery of the same car.
I'm very disappointed and shocked by what happened, and I find the situation very irritating. New cars simply don't do that. The service guys said that it would take * days for repair as there is a major issue with engine and needs a complete replacement with new wiring to be done and other problems mentioned and are not certain on the number of days it would take too. This confirms my belief that I've been unlucky choosing Tata Nexon. I'm continuously trying to contact the sales representative and service center with many follow up calls and messages to which I have not received proper response or even the escalation contact numbers/email ids.
While I do understand that manufacturing errors happen, still I cannot comprehend the fact the car was not tested before handover and I received a defective one. This is not the type of product I would have expected from a manufacturer of this size and reputation. After contacting customer care and writing several mails, few customer-relationship representatives contacted me and tried well to convince me to accept the defective car saying they would provide service if any problem occurs in the future. Everyone who contacted me just repeat the same thing that this happens in * out of **K+ cars.
This is my first car and had dreamt a lot about it saving every penny possible to have my own car. I even waited for *+ months for it to be delivered. Even if I take the car back, I will always be in tension whenever we drive our car that it may stop on the way and my family will get stuck at someplace.
Hence, I want a complete refund of my money.
