My mother was under Star Health Insurance and she has been hospitalised for treatment of severe covid infection on **/**/**** at RTIICS, Kolkata. Our whole family was also corona effected at that time. After a huge mental stress and long serious treatment my mother has been discharged on **/**/**** by the hospital but due to the delay in Star Health's Insurance approval processing I was unable to release my patient on the same day. Alas we and my patient has to suffer mental trauma of staying in the hospital for an extra day only for the poor and delayed service of Star Health Company. As per the terms of the policy the Insurance company was suppose to give **% of the total hospital expenditure but in my case only **% of my total hospital bill has been approved and paid by Star Health whereas we, the policy holder has to bear more than **% of the total hospital bill. After asking for several times the Star health Co. failed to provide me a proper breakup of my non payable amount of the bill. Again as per the policy terms Star health executives/medical officers are suppose to visit and check the justification of the hospital bill towards avoiding any extra unnecessary charges for raise of bill. Then why proper investigation has not been done by Star Health in my case and why I had to bear such a huge percentage of the total bill which was totally unexpected? In addition for Star Health's delayed service of claim approval another extra day of hospital charges arose and we gone through huge mental, physical and financial harassments in this critical situation.
