Flat owner - Security deposit not returned from flat owner

I was started living as a tenant from * Sept **** at address B**, Anand Park Lane, Near katepuram chowk, Pimple Gurav, Pune. The flat owner name is Arun Shyamsundar Shinghane. We had a agreement from same date. There was mentioned security deposit **K (*k will be reduced as a paint expences for a flat while returning back) and *k plus light bill as a rent per month. I stayed there till ** March **** and that day we moved to my hometown as there was a situation of covid-** was raised in pune and my wife was pregnant. So we wanted to follow distancing in this situation. We were at home and lockdown was extending. As my wife was pregnant I decided to keep her at hometown and If there is call from the company to attend the office I will go alone because for me giving *k rent was not affordable.
I called my owner that I want to vacant the room and He asked me to pay the rent for one more month. So we agreed on his point and cleared all rent till the April ****. I asked him when should I vacant the room. He said that let it be as there is lockdown going on and will call me once this situation freeze. And he will not ask for rent for that. Also he told me that he will give deposit back when I vacant the flat.
May and June **** went out then I called back to him and he said that give me rent for May and June. Why you are calling so late. So I was totally disappointed with his behavior.
We didn't gave me my deposit back. Also he was asking more money.
We vacant the flat was unable to do anything.
I have UPI transaction on his son's phonepay as my last rent till April ****.
He didn't gave me PAN as he is not providing rental property tax.
