- School s COVID19 Pandemic 15 discount for as per Karnataka High Court Verdicts ^Open

Due to the COVID-** Pandemic, all school started online education for their students. In our case, it was particularly “Global Indian International School, Whitefield Bangalore” also popularly known as GIIS – Whitefield, Bangalore. Due to online classes most of the school’s infrastructure and facilities were utilized by the student, however students (including my * kids studying) were asked to pay complete ***% school for the academic year ****-****. Obvious this was not justified, and the matter landed up in court. Later an order was passed by Karnataka High Court allowing unaided schools in the state to collect only **% of their full annual fees for the academic year ****-**. With this verdict in place, GIIS-Whitefield Bangalore also asked their students to pay **% of the tuition fee for academic year ****-**.

In my case, my * kids studying at GIIS-Whitefield Bangalore (Grade * & KG during academic year ****-**), should also have been offered this discount of **% in lieu of utilized school facilities as per the court’s verdict. However, this was offered only to my daughter (Grade *) and my son (KG) was deprived of this concession. On requesting the justification, I was told that my son’s tuition fee as a sibling discounts and hence school cannot offer me this **% pandemic discount.

I feel that this is unlawful and against court’s verdict, because sibling discount has been an integral part of their fee structure forever and it has noting to do with COVID-** Pandemic. Further to this, the school’s management kept my son deprived of his “Right of Education”, by not promoting him into next session for academic year ****-****, in spite of us paying ***% of school fee as per school’s guidelines, beside holding just **% the fee for academic year of ****-****.

Further to this, the school communicate me that my Son will not be promoted to next grade unless I pay the remaining **% of the fee, when all school around have already closed their admissions for new students. I was also told that the School fee that I paid for new session of year ****-**** will not be refundable. I was felt I was trapped, with no fault of mine and my son was deprived from his “Right of Education” and all these are against court’s verdict. As of now, I have no choice but to pay the remaining **% of the fee. After I paid this **%, school have now promoted my son to next grade, however I would like to escalate this matter to get justice for my son and my family.

I kindly request you to help me sort this matter with the school, GIIS – Whitefield, Bangalore and help me to get the following in return

*. **% School fee for academic year ****-**** to be refunded back to me
*. A letter of apologies to my family, as were made feel embarrassed over telephonic conversations
*. Compensation for inconvenience & mental trauma caused due to School’s harassments to us
