I bought four flight tickets (domestic within US) through @Cleartrip in early March, paying an additional premium to avail the “Freedom Fare” policy – it promised a refund in the event of cancellation. I had to cancel the trip in March itself due to the COVID-** outbreak. It is August now. In the last few months, every time I followed up, I only got an email response promising processing of the refunds within ** hours, ** hours, ** days, etc., justifying the delay on the premise of COVID-**. Given the gravity of the situation, I was tolerant of the delay so far. However, to my surprise, (*) they marked one of the trips as “refunded” a couple of days ago, and I got an email saying that the refund amount is ZERO! The status of the three other tickets is still pending; (*) they have modified the premium paid under the freedom fare policy to zero against all my tickets on their website --- the original receipt clearly shows the amount that was charged separately toward the Freedom Fare policy. Customer support cannot be reached over the phone for any clarification as usual. I only get robotic email responses even now when I followup.
