When visiting the site office I was pressured into paying a refundable deposit to show my interest in the property. However, next day they asked me to sign on an application for booking form but did not provide all the paperwork related to the property before taking my signature. After visiting MahaRERA for the documents the next day I found that the property was on a lease hold land and not free hold land parcel. The sales team failed to mention any details in that regard and I asked them to hold my application and not deposit my cheque given for booking amount. After visit to the site office three days later, when I told that due to the papers not being shown to me in advance, I did not want to move forward with the application for booking. The sales manager told me they would return the deposit amount after sending them an email regarding the same. However now they are refusing to refund the amount and claiming that my refundable deposit taken on my first visit was now treated as token amount against the application and that it cannot be refunded. I did not give my consent to treat my deposit as a token and the sales team also did not tell me about this being the case while taking my signature on the application form. Also they did not provide any documents beforehand as mentioned in the application form either. They are trying to take advantage of the deposit with them by treating it as token money even though there is no confirmation or information given to me with regards to the processing of the application or the deposit being treated as token for booking.
