Subject: Pushy signup for services to travel in COVID-**
Sir/Madam
I am writing to escalate our most recent experience with one of the travelling agencies which has been quite disturbing to us. Myself Sarita Behl and my husband Sh. Ashok Behl R/O ***/*, GH-**A, Sector ** Panchkula, Haryana were contacted by the Courtyard Holidays Pvt. Ltd on **/**/**** to chose one of their holiday packages quite persistently. Despite our strict no to their offerings they asked us to visit to discuss their offers at the Bella vista hotel in sector *, Panchkula and pushed us to sale.
We however made a genuine attempt to cancel the plan to go further and advised them to cancel the deal they offered us since we did not receive any acknowledgment of their offer as committed by them. It has been quite depressing as they did not respond satisfactorily to our cancellation request. We are an elderly couple and found it difficult to pay **,*** in this scary COVID ** scenario. Also we have gone through the COVID treatment and need the money which we were not prepared to spend on travelling. We got numerous texts and calls despite our clear no to them to go for any such plans. The dealing hand Mr. Manoj told us that we are inviting you to offer complimentary vouchers as part of their ongoing campaign to promote their services. Mr. Manoj accompanied by his fellow workers namely Yash Malhotra and Mohit Kumar misled us and signed us up for the holiday package and we had no option then to chose the plan to get away with the mental harassment we faced via texts and calls.
Moving forward we did not receive any relevant documentation and acknowledgment at the least either till date. We were provided incorrect email address at the first instance and on consistent follow ups they gave us the email address however our request has been delayed & denied no refund has been processed. Having failed to get this resolved we approached the National Consumer Helpline to assist us in this matter. A few notices were sent by the NCH on several dates on the customer care email address of the company and no reply to any such notices were received and the matter has stood disposed for its status.
We again given a few tries to manage the situation amicably with the staff and they knew that they had received the notices from NCH on this matter and still they are playing up and have been causing delays by saying you have to deal this matter via email or if we can manage the refund we will do it in * instalments however we have paid the aforesaid amount of **,*** one-off and wish to settle this with full amount in one transaction as committed by the dealing hand earlier. After such a hassle we are now approaching this honourable bench of jury to resolve this matter. All relevant correspondence with the Courtyard Holidays Pvt. Ltd and the reminders as sent by the NCH have been attached herein with this application.
Therefore we request the jury to take disciplinary action against the perpetrators and assist us in getting the refund in a timely manner for which we have been facing tremendous mental stress and unnecessary harassment of keep chasing the staff at Courtyard holidays for our own hard earned money which means a lot to us especially when we are retired and have gone through expensive COVID treatment recently.
