I had rented furniture for a duration of ** months from Rentomojo but I wished to closed the subscription early as there were provisions for flexi tenure. But i faced the following issues:
*. I had been trying to close the subscription since * months but the app showed the service to be temporarily unavailable. I thought that it might be due to lockdown & continued to pay the rent of the furniture & house even though it has been empty all this time. I finally called them at the end of last month since the service was still showing up to be unavailable even though the lockdown had been lifted & the responder simply said "we had intentionally put up that message on app since we were getting lots of closure requests". This is not the professional way to tackle you problem, making consumer suffer.
*. After the call, my closure request was submitted & i was asked to pay flexi tenure charges which were *.* times the rent without discount being considered i.e. **** Rs. as opposed to ***rs (wrt ** months tenure) that is mentioned in the contract (PFA) which I recieved at the beginning of tenure
*. I was told that my furniture would be picked up on *th june, but it was not done. Every time i call them, they say that I'll be recieving a call from them regarding the confirmation but i haven't received till date. Everytime they say that we tried to contact you 'once' but your phone no. was not reachable that too on the phone no. which i had told them not to contact on since it is lost. In the very first call itself i told them to contact me on my new phone no. & had been repeating this on every single call. But still i haven't recieved any call till date. My * other flatmates who had also taken the furniture with me also haven't recieved their respective calls even though their phone nos. are the same.
Please look into the harassment we & landlord have faced costing us * months of rent and these not so professional people are least bothered to even fulfill their promises.
Loss : ******* (* month's room rent) + **** (flexi tenure charges ****-*** : actually charged - mentioned in contract) = ***** Rs.
Apart from this, they also charged me ***.** Rs extra rent which they admit and promised to refund after furniture pick up.
