I took a trip with my wife to Georgia via MakeMyTrip, which was an offline booking made by one of their managers - Henali Shah (Henali.Belani@go-mmt.com) at a very uneconomical price. Since we read so many negative reviews about eVISA and immigration issues for Indians to Georgia, we didn't want to take a chance and went ahead with the booking.
Henali not only ensured that our experience was pathetic but was highly unapproachable as well. From the start, till our return, we had to follow up with her for each and every item, in fact we prepared the itinerary on our own and shared with her. She ensured that she had made all the required arrangements for our new year in Georgia as we made the payments on time. Little did we know about her irresponsible nature; let me list a few things below:
*. Since this was an offline booking, we couldn't see any information on the MakeMyTrip app or account.
*. We were not provided relevant invoices after making the payments. Whatever we received looked unofficial and made up, that too with incorrect details.
*. No understanding or help was given during our VISA process as it got rejected due to some insufficient information and when we approached her for additional documents, she didn't take that seriously.
*. Just a few hours before our flight, we were told that there would be no service provided to us on the *st January as it is a holiday in Georgia.
*. We were also told a few hours before our flight that our hotel bookings have been cancelled.
*. When we told her to cancel our trip and refund our money, she said that the arrangements have been made. We trusted her again and went ahead with the booking.
*. When we reached Georgia, and met our tour chauffeur, we were told that there would not be any plan on the *st. We were fooled until the last minute and on the *st, our chauffeur requested us that he could be us for a few hours only.
*. We went to Gudauri on **th and didn't have sufficient time to complete the excursions planned for that day as the itinerary was not well planned by Henali and MakeMyTrip team. The chauffeur confirmed that it was impossible to cover all those excursions in a single day and the team in India shouldn't have put these together.
*. We explored most of the excursions on our own via personal taxi, which costed us more on top of what we paid already to MakeMyTrip.
**. We were shifted to another hotel (with a very very small room) because of lack of proper arrangements done by Ms Henali or the MakeMyTrip team.
We paid extra for this trip and had nothing but disappointments from Henali and the MakeMyTrip team.
We faced a lot of difficulties and issues during our vacation which we originally planned to enjoy tensionfree and paid extra to ensure that, sadly it didn't happen.
Even till date, we haven't received any formal invoice from this lady or the MakeMyTrip team.
I have screenshots of chats for most of the points that I have mentioned above and am keen to post them on social media to make people not buy useless packages from MakeMyTrip.
I claim a refund of the amount due to the issues that we faced in this complete event and the activities we couldn't take up but paid for.
