New India Assurance - My claim rejected by TPA of insurance company

I submitted my medical-claim after emergency hospitalization but to my utter dismay, the TPA rejected my claim giving unconvincing reasons.

i) When asked for further elaboration on the reasons given for rejection the TPA changed tacks and started asking for irrelevant and illogical documents to be additionally submitted.

ii) The insurance company has remained incommunicado for the entire duration right from claim submission in Jan-**** till date. They have not even acknowledged my claim submission and despite several reminders and escalations to their grievance cell, they have not given a single response. In this way, the insurance company seeks to avoid taking direct responsibility and delay the claim payout process by introducing an additional level of bureaucracy and red-tape.
