Result of hearing with both parties (Observations & Conclusion);
Pursuant to the notices issued by this office both the parties attended the online hearing held at Hyderabad on **/**/**** through online video call. On close consideration of submissions made and documents produced it was observed that, the complainant Mr. E.Kranthi Kumar was approached by a sales person advising him to take an insurance policy from Future Generali Life insurance company limited. The sales person assured him that, apart from life insurance, there would be health insurance benefit in the policy. He took the policy with his mother as the Life Assured as she was a senior citizen and he thought that a policy with health insurance cover would be beneficial to her.
The complainant received the policy bond bearing number ******** on **-**-**** but was surprised to notice that there was no mention of any health insurance benefit in the policy. He gave a mail dated **-**-**** to the company and enquired about the health insurance benefit in the policy. He received a reply vide mail dated **-**-**** from the company informing that there was no health insurance benefit in the policy. Then, he gave a mail dated **-**-**** to the company complaining that the policy was mis sold to him with a wrong assurance that, there would be health insurance benefit. After he gave the complaint, the sales person who sold the policy to him approached him and requested him to withdraw his complaint stating that, he would be held responsible for the same and would lose his job. As the sales person had also assured him that, he would see that, health insurance is added in the policy, the complainant gave a mail dated **-**-**** to the company stating that he wanted to close the complaint as the issue was resolved. In spite of repeated follow up with the sales person, health insurance benefit was not added in the policy. Hence the complainant gave a mail dated **-**-**** requesting the insurer to add the health insurance benefit or cancel the policy and refund the premium paid. The request was declined by the Insurer, as it came after the free look period was over.
