- Inflated billing Open
We have received inflated bill in month of July ****, where the Electricity company charged us **** units. We usually get bills worth *** units except summer months where unit consumption can increase upto **** units as per our electricity consumption history. We reached out to company's consumper helpline and local field offices about this error but they insist there's no billing error and demand bills to be paid in full. We have been paying monthly bills since pandemic began and even during lockdown. We are still paying current billing cycle, but now the company is saying pay in full or we cut the power supply. They have cut the supply without providing any form of notice of action twice. We have a recovering patient in our household from brain hemmorhage surgery. We can not take him to hospital if anything happens as all hospitals are dealing with COVID** pandemic cases. We informed about this situation to MSEDCL but they insist that take loans or sell jewellary but pay the bill or we will cut power supply. Such harrasment is unacceptable by a utility company. We decided to go to nearest police station, they refered us to Consumer Court to resolve this dispute. We are therefor reaching out to seek help in this regard.
