Great Learning - Fraudulent Communication
Nidhish Prasad Narayan Singh filed complaint against Great Learning on Aug 25, 2024
I am writing to share my grievances and frustrations regarding the alleged cheating, fraud & mental harassment I have experienced throughout this entire episode, perpetrated by Great Learning and its associated institutions, including the University of Texas and the University of Deakins. I wanted to bring to your attention that my access to the course for which I enrolled two weeks ago has been blocked - screenshot provided below - despite all the efforts to pay the required fee in a suitable installments.
Background of educational fraud at Global scale: It all began on August *th when I was approached by Samar, who presented a course titled "PG Program in AI and ML." He highlighted the program's excellence, its affiliation within India including UGC, and its partnership with the University of Texas. He emphasized the program's flexible financing options, including loans and finance plans, and assured me that any support I might need would be provided, all I had to do was pay to start the course.
By the end of our discussion, I was convinced and agreed to enroll in the program. Samar promised that the University of Texas would issue the admission link and payment link would be expiring if not used immediately. This sense of urgency was reminiscent of typical fraud tactics, where false promises of recognition in India and other misleading information were made. For instance, listening to the end of the video for the course induction, it was confirmed that the PG course was recognized by the UGC, India's regulatory body.
Following this, the discussion shifted to the course fees – and Samar did not offer any support on fees and installments which was promised. Rather his colleague, Mrigank then introduced me to the Master's Program in Data Science at Deakin. I requested that the matter of the PG Course fee be resolved before proceeding with the Master's Program. He promised to address it. However, I insisted on obtaining confirmation from their bank/finance team regarding the PG Course fee before proceeding. He confirmed that this is an easy work for him, he will ensure that installment and loan work will be addressed, he sent me the screenshot of the loan team to get my trust and I proceeded with the promised help for any additional fee needs.
Great learning teams requested an immediate payment for the admission fee of the Master's Program at Deakin. I objected, pointing out that my finance companies were now asking for more documents than we had initially agreed upon. At this point, Samar and Mrigankstopped offering any assistance. A simple installment facility can help me to proceed with the course or I should be given refund of fees which I insisted in all conversations.
When I mentioned considering legal action, a new individual, possibly Sabbir, offered to help with this matter. However, Sabbir stopped taking my calls.
I then escalated this issue to Nupoor Singh, to whom patiently explained the situation from start to finish and she promised to resolve it. Subsequently, Nupoor Singh stopped to give any support on this and a new person – Ashwini called stating she will definitely resolve the installment and finance issue related to the course.
I hope this message provides a clear understanding of the situation. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address these issues and ensure that such fraudulent activities do not occur again.
Expectation: All I wanted an honest effort to resolve the matters but wasted time with * sales persons on Great Learning, who are not willing to let me pay the fee in installment, nor giving refund of the fees and any escalation point for the resolution. This is typical operation of the global nexus to loot, & harass Indian students in the name of global education providers.
