Anupam Thakuria filed complaint against Idea Cellular Limited on Dec 22, 2018
Dear sir/madam,
I was an Idea Postpaid Subscriber from Assam with the no. **********. But unfortunately *.* years back I lost my phone along with the sim card. Immediately after the incident I called idea and asked them to close my number.
Now few days back I got a call from idea to pay my outstanding bill. On further enquiry I came to know that my previous account was not yet closed and it was piling up bills every month. Then I again called idea to close my account, but the customer executive replied that they can't close my number until I clear all my bills.
So on **th December, ****; I cleared all my bills and just after that I called idea to close my number. Then I was asked some of the questions to confirm and after the getting full confirmation I was told that my number will be closed within few hours.
But again on **nd December,****, I received one mail from idea requesting to pay the bill for December month. Once again I called Idea customer service and the executive told me that my number is only barred but account is still active. When I requested to close my account, the executive rudely denied.
The entire matter is harassing me financially as well as mentally a lot. This a clear case of fraud by idea as they are unnecessarily imposing bills in my name for a number which I have not been using since *.* years and the account is kept active in-spite of repeated request to close it.
Therefore I request you to kindly give justice to my grievance by instructing Idea to close my account permanently and provide me a compensation amount of Rs. **,***.** for my financial loss and mental agony caused by the entire incident.
