Bharti Axa General Insurance - Fraud by Bharti Axa Travel Insurance

I took two travel insurance policies from bharti axa for my trip to Euro Zone(Belgium,France) for duration Jan **,**** to Feb *, ****
Policy Numbers -- SR****** and stc/i*******/*c/**/******

On *th Feb ****, there was heavy snowstorm in Paris which delayed my thalys train(Paris - Belgium) by * hrs causing me to miss my Emirates flight. What happened then is the worst i could experience. Ideally, travel insurance should have helped cover the expenses that i incurred but they completed refused to honor the claim.

- Emirates took advantage of my situation and provided me an alternate itenirary (which cost me rs. *****) which included a flight in evening to Dubai and then a * day layover without providing any hotel/meal vouchers.
- I spent ** hrs with my family at Dubai airport which included my wife and * year old daughter but emirates was not able to provide an alternate flight to reach early.
- Incurred huge food expenses in Dubai airport.
- I then booked an alternate flight to come from Dubai-Delhi on my own which cost me rs. *****

I ended up incurring more than rs. ****** extra(changed itenirary, Dubai expenses, Flight tickets from Dubai to Delhi )from my own pocket due to this situation.

When i filed the claim with Bharti Axa, they took more than *.* months to process it. After taking all documents, they stopped responding to my emails.
After * months, i got a letter rejecting/repudiating my claim and i was shocked to see it.
Even when my insurance claim was eligible in following categories mentioned in insurance policy, they refused to honor my claim. Categories where my claim was eligible are below.
Trip Delay
Trip Cancellation and Interruption
Missed Connection
Emergency accomodation


I had a horrible experience with bharti axa Travel insurance and their claim processing department and i wanted to bring to your notice this case so that people can take travel insurance from other companies rather than going for bharti axa. This company is a total fraud and rips off customers from genuine claims.
